    Requirements

    Opportunity to join a Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) Electronic Warfare (CREW) Duke sustainment team. We are looking for RF Engineers to provide technical support for sustainment of the CREW Duke System software baseline. Incumbent must be a quick learner with strong analytical and problem solving skills, who is resourceful and able to work independently.

     

    Tasks performed may include, but are not limited to:

     

    • Performing technical analysis in support of defeating existing and emerging RF and RCIED threats, as defined from user requirements.
    • Designing and developing new waveforms and computer algorithms to expand the capabilities of existing electronic warfare systems and simulated environments.
    • Developing jamming techniques against RF threats.
    • Characterizing and exploiting RF threat devices.
    • Developing techniques to better detect and classify RF threats, and to reduce false alarms from misidentification.
    • Conducting performance validation and/or regression testing of threat techniques, to include simulations, laboratory testing, and live system testing.
    • Generate a functional design decomposition of developed threat techniques and initiate and define the process for implementation into the existing electronic warfare system HW.
    • Interfacing with users to translate requirements into design.
    • Preparing, maintaining, and updating relevant system baseline documentation and other technical reports.

    • Performing independent reviews of deliverables produced by others (e.g. specifications, source code, test benches, verification plans, and technical reports).

    • Develop new and maintain existing automated test capabilities.

    • Operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain radio frequency (RF) simulation hardware and various infrastructure hardware systems used in software reprogramming of EW systems.

    • Ensure compliance of the laboratory hardware maintenance program for simulation and other infrastructure hardware.

    • Monitor Automated Test Equipment (ATE) laboratory hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) testing to ensure proper simulation hardware operation.

    • Provide EW system project team members with technical assistance and training on the use of simulation hardware as required.

    Additional Requirements / Qualifications

    • Knowledge of communication devices and components, wireless RF devices, modulation schemes, RF signal theory, and wireless communication network protocols required.
    • Experience with RF laboratory equipment (e.g. real-time signal analyzers, broadband signal generators, arbitrary waveform generators, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, RF components, etc.) required.
    • Prior experience in jamming technique development strongly preferred.
    • Digital signal processing experience preferred.
    • Must be able to travel to CONUS locations to participate in technical reviews, training, and testing; travel is estimated at less than 25%
    • Strong Visio, PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills
    • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
    • Hands-on experience troubleshooting problems that occur with electronic RF systems at the component level.
    • Hands-on experience and fluency operating most general purpose RF test equipment; specifically the use of Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Network Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Digital Multi-Meters.
    • The ability to write test plans, procedures, report documents and to carry out testing alone and as part of a team
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, resourceful, and able to work both independently and in a team environment.
    • Work experience or educational background with the following: Currently Active in programming, designing, and coding with Lab VIEW, Test Stand, MATLAB, Visio and any other engineering software products

    • Ability to follow security rules

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
    • 9+ year’s practical experience in a pertinent technical field.
    • Must be a US citizen and possess a current Secret clearance
