The Lead DevOps Engineer will work collaboratively with the software engineering team to: deploy and operate the micro-services based system; help automate and streamline operations and processes; build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations; and troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test and production environments.

Responsibilities are to: manage the entire Kubernetes infrastructure, which includes multiple clusters and namespaces; Define and implement requirements for infrastructure improvements; Research and develop improvements to availability, scalability, and performance of the environment, including implementation of the necessary monitoring tools to facilitate the process; Manage all build and deploy tools, and oversee all deployments; Improve deployment processes to ensure zero downtime and simple rollback protocols for all releases; Architect, implement, and train the development team on new CI/CD tooling and processes.

Additional Requirements / Qualifications

  • Twenty (20) years’ experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Must current hold a TS\SCI with Polygraph Clearance


Highly Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Apache and/or Nginx load balancing in a Kubernetes cluster environment
  • Experience implementing security in a micro-services architecture (PKI/TLS/HTTPS)
  • Experience or strong working knowledge of distributed file systems (Rook/Ceph)
  • Knowledge of hardware and ability to recommend server configurations
