Requirements

Perform Lab Manager duties to develop, build, install, configure, and maintain a stand-alone Government research and development laboratory while still implementing security. This laboratory comprises the network infrastructure, servers (both physical and virtual), and workstations needed to support mission requirements. Operating systems in use include several flavors of Windows and Linux with the emphasis being on Linux. Hardware includes: Dell servers, switches, network attached storage arrays, and tape drives; Symantec backup appliance; Cisco switches; Apple workstations; and custom built workstations. Tools include; NetSeer, SEAR, NetFlow, UAM, and EPO. Candidate will need to adhere to office core hours of 1000 – 1400.

 

In addition to the minimum required experience,the following special technical skills are also required:

 

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience administering Windows systems, preferably Win Server 2012 or newer
  • Minimum 5 years Red Hat Linux Experience, or a derivative like CentOS or Fedora with knowledge of IP tables, NFS services and Centrify
  • Experience creating documentation to outline processes and procedures
  • Experience provisioning systems, configuring systems, patching and managing systems, and securing/hardening systems with security in mind
  • Configures and manages Windows and Linux operating systems and installs/loads operating system software troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance
  • Knowledge and experience of VMWare and virtual environments; proven ability to install and configure virtual servers and clients, using various operating systems, as mission needs dictate.
  • Knowledge of systems and network security, auditing, and user authentication.
  • Experience administering VMware, VSphere servers, ESXi, VSan, NSX, VRealize Cisco IOS, and NetApp appliances
  • Candidate should have intermediate Cisco router skills to include knowledge about routing and IP services

 

In addition to the required skills above, these additional skills are desirable but not mandatory: NetApp, SELinux, and CASPORT

Additional Requirements / Qualifications

  • Fifteen (15) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional system administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
  • TS\SCI with Polygraph
